Vapium Summit Plus Review

Vapium Summit Plus Review

The Vapium Summit is one of the nicest vape you’ll ever see. What’s even more enticing is the $150 price tag! It’s a must-buy for the budget-minded vaper.

When I laid my eyes on the Vapium Summit Plus, I thought it looked pretty cool. It certainly looked like it was built with quality materials. I held the portable herb vaporizer unit and it felt solid and light in my hands. The Vapium Summit Plus sports a straightforward design that isn’t going to win any sophistication awards, but it manages to stay classy. Without looking at the price tag I felt that it was really well-made.

The company that made Vapium Summit Plus claims all their vape materials are both medical and food-grade. I saw on its website the list of construction materials that go into making a Vapium Summit Plus- the thick rubber film that adorns the back, the thermoplastic urethane grip, and the high temp/ industrial strength polycarbonate shell. The end result is a decent offering that surprisingly brought a lot of consumer value.

If I were to describe the vape unit, I’d go with “rugged”. You’ll see hard edges, tough materials and a feature that allows the Vapium Summit Plus to work even under extremely cold weather. This vape was literally my only companion when I went up the ski slopes in a lift. It stands to reason that I know the ins and outs of my Vapium Summit Plus, because what else was there to do but vape? Snow bunnies take note- you can use this tough little vape with you!

Vaping Performance and Quality

Vapium Summit Plus performed

I was really surprised on how well the Vapium Summit Plus performed in my vaping tests. Color me impressed! It’s a special vaping unit that stands out on top of my collection of vaping units priced at $200 and below.

I got a generous amount of vapor in a short pull. The draw resistance while I sucked in air wasn’t too bad at all. I thought that conduction-type vape mechanisms would prove to be harder to pull with, but the Vapium Summit Plus gave me no such trouble. It’s more free-flowing than other conduction type units I’ve reviewed in the past, and this is a great bonus in my books.

The draw was excellent, but how about the quality of vapor and the flavor? The experience was smooth, and the flavor was recreated faithfully when it reached my tongue. You’ll see that the Vapium Summit Plus has an 8-level temp setting which you can adjust according to your preference. I did some trial-and-error part, and my sweet spot is at the number 6. It could be a different preference, so make sure you spend a bit of time to determine which is the best vaping temperature. The flavor gets a burned flavor when you’re drawing the last few drops at a temp setting of 6. I’d recommend fellow vapers not to turn the dial to 7 or 8 under any circumstance whatsoever!

So let’s talk about the herb chamber. The Vapium Summit Plus can hold up to .3g of fine herbs, which is about the average of all vaping products. Each refill will last you anywhere from 10 to 20 good pulls. The unit is pretty efficient in that I got the right potency for the gram of herbs I put in the chamber. It’s not the best, but it’s not the worst in its class. I’d say about average.

I learned one little trick while I was reviewing the Vapium Summit Plus. Your herbs should be really finely ground for you to get the best possible experience. Get up there are grind it, then pack the herb chamber to the brim! Fill it up and don’t be afraid to cram the bag to the last grain. Tamp it down if you need to! That’s what I did.

I made it tight, compact and the flavor just burst out when I drew a pull. You’ll find that drawing takes more effort, but it’s all worth it. You get maximum efficiency and potency this way.

Vapium Summit Plus Battery and Charging

Vapium Summit Plus Li-On batteryVapium Summit Plus Li-On battery

The Vapium Summit Plus comes with a standard rechargeable Li-On battery inside the shell and the output is via standard micro-usb charging. Nice. I could charge this little unit whenever I wanted to, which was very convenient for me. The chargers for the vaping unit come in a variety of styles and they are reasonably priced. You can just pick one that speaks to you the most. As for me, I got several chargers and a handful of micro usb cables so I could charge it whenever, wherever. I also carry around with me a 20,000 mah power bank that I charge my vape, my smart phone and my tablet with.

A full charge with the Vapium Summit Plus takes more or less an hour to complete. I got an hour plus of vaping before the charge went completely out. The battery capacity is similar to other high-end products, which add to the overall value.

I turned on the Vapium Summit and it heat up pretty quickly. Because I set the temperature at 6, I only had to wait a minute before the optimum draw, vapor and flavor set in. The pass-through feature is a nice touch. It meant that I could plug my vape in the power bank and still use it without worrying about potential side effects. I’m cautious about charging and using devices in particular, so I’ve only used it on emergencies and not if I could help it.

Vapium Summit Plus Notable Features

Vapium Summit Plus feature

Did your Vapium Summit Plus unit shut off after some time? No, it’s not broken. It’s one of the safety features of this handy vaping unit. The Summit Plus model turns off by itself after 90 seconds has passed, whether you’re using it or not. I thought I bought a defective unit, but this feature was listed in the package that came along the vape. The label said that you’ll need to press the power button again if you want to keep on vaping.

This does several things to you and the vape product itself. For one, it’s a safety feature that protects the user from unnecessary harm. Second, battery power is conserved. It does have some annoyances that you can live with, but it’s a feature that’s being used by other vape manufacturers.

I was almost dropped my Vapium Summit Plus when I first turned it on because it vibrated with no warning! I honestly thought it was going to explode. The same thing happened when the unit reached optimal temperature. It took a while to get used to, but it was a welcome tactile feedback that indirectly told me that my vape was working perfectly fine.

By the way, there’s a light that turns blue when the Vapium Summit Plus is at standby mode. In one instance I had left the vape for 90 seconds and a blue light came on. The heat was turned off to save more battery juice, but the thing didn’t vibrate. I kind of missed this tactile feedback because then I had to see if the light was blue and make sure that my vape was in standby mode. But it’s different for everyone and it does little to change what I thought about this excellent vaping unit.

Clumsy fingers, beware! It can get messy to try and stuff the herb chamber to the limit. The act of stuffing your favorite herb down to the oven, topping it up and tamping it all down takes patience and practice. First time users will have to be extra careful. Some particles will invariably end up in the unreachable depths in the edges. I brushed around and got the particles off after I put the herb chamber back and re-attached the lid. Practice this and you should be fine.

Maintenance

Vapium Summit Plus Maintenance

Vapers who are OCD about cleanliness should take note of the rubber film grip of the Vapium Summit Plus, and the herb chamber I talked about earlier. Rubber is a natural magnet of dust and dirt, so the first thing you’ll notice is that the grip is looking less spiffy as compared to the rest of the vape. As for the herb chamber, it needs to be cleaned out every once in a while in order to keep up appearances. I found that rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cleaning cloth does wonders to making it looking like new again.

The mouthpiece and the vapor path are well-made, and thus I found that it needs less maintenance than most other vapes I reviewed. Make sure to inspect these parts once in a while and include them when you’re cleaning your herb chamber and the rubber grip.

The Vapium Summit Plus comes with a cleaning kit that includes some cleaning wipes, a spare chamber screen, pipe cleaners and a brush. It’s all you need in the first few cleaning sessions, but you’ll have to make do on your own after that. Still, no big problem.

Oh and by the way, both mouthpiece and the oven lid are magnetic, so you’ll have an easier time cleaning when the time comes.

Conclusion

Vapium Summit Plus Conclution

What struck me in the good first impression was the affordable price. Then, as I explored the Vapium Summit Plus more and more, I found out that it’s an excellent vape that stands well on its own. Performance is higher than expected, and the build is amazing for the price. The design is straightforward, but when it comes to doing what vapes do, the Summit Plus doesn’t disappoint!
