Augvape Druga Foxy 150W Mod & BTFC RDA Review

Home / Atomizer Reviews / Augvape Druga Foxy 150W Mod & BTFC RDA Review

Druga Foxy dual 18650 VV/VW mod and BTFC RDA have been my latest favorite vape combo from the moment they arrived for review straight from Augvape.

Why? Well, this combo is a superb synergy example where elegance meets simplicity, innovation, excellent build quality and great performance!

The Druga Foxy has innovative quick release lever which makes it super fast to change my atomizers and BTFC RDA offers great versatility of the airflow settings to cater for AF for all preferences:  bottom AF, top AF or a combination which suits you.

This RDA is a product of collaboration between Augvape and the well known and respected YT vape reviewer VapnFagn.

BTFC stands for "Bottom Airflow, Top Airflow, Flavor Chasing, and Cloud Chasing" and I'd say that the name is well and rightfully suited!

I've found this vape combo simple to use, with excellent  build quality and providing a great vape experience so this review will cover both new pieces of vape gear from Augvape although they aren't paired by the manufacturer.

The Druga Foxy and BTFC RDA Packaging

While the BTFC RDA comes in the recognizable Augvape cardboard tube, Druga Foxy comes in a box containing manual only.

There's no USB cable as this mod doesn't have the option for the batteries to be charged internally. Some might find it as a con but I don't because I always recommend using a dedicated vape battery external charger.

The  BTFC RDA comes safely tucked in Styrofoam padding and contains the following:

1 x Augvape & VapnFagn BTFC RDA
1 x 810 Acrylic Drip Tip
1 x Spare Parts Bag

The spare parts include replacement o-rings, spare grub screws for the build deck, an Allen key and a hollow 510 pin for squonking

Both packages will protect the mod and the RDA well during transport and my review samples arrived safe and sound.

Druga Foxy Front and Back

First off, Druga Foxy mod is excellent build quality and suits my design preferences perfectly. It offers a great feel in the hand and looks like it will outlast most mods in the same price range.

Both front and back panels come off to reveal the two control buttons and the display on the front with a very cool, retro look and a useful Ohm's Law diagram. Even if you're familiar with it, you still get a nice decorative touch.

Battery compartment is of good quality and neither of the panels has any play whatsoever.

Quick Release Lever and 510 Connection

The innovative Quick Release function works well and takes the combined use of the button, which is quite firm and cannot be pushed accidentally, and the 510 threading which opens to let your atomizer in.

It is definitely a cool option to have although it works with about 7 out of 10 atomizers I tried.

Those with shorter 510 connection go in all the way or take a quarter turn to tighten the atty. Atomizers with longer 510 will take a few turns. When pressing the button to get the atomizer out, all pop up!

The question of how long it will work or will you damage the threads on either the mod or atty over time if you insert your atomizer in a crooked way remains unanswered for now. Time will tell... So far, so god!

A few more words about Druga Foxy mod - it's really, and I mean really simple to use. There's no TC hear and there are very few adjustments available. It's just perfect for the vapers who are getting their first dual 18650 mod.

The display might be too small for some of you and the protective window on the front plate makes it a little difficult to read in the bright daylight. On the plus side, at least in my opinion, the smallish display makes the mod look elegant, simplistic and it's a nice change from the flashy, raving displays we've been seeing in the last year or two.

Mae of zinc alloy, Druga Foxy sits well in the hand due to its soft curves and rounded edges. It has some weight to it but I don't mind - I always think: more weight equals better quality of components and more durability. No mods have proven me wrong so far and I hope Druga Foxy won't either.

The absence of TC, bypass and USB charging may be seen as a con by some but I don't mind any of the three as I'm mostly using power mode and charging my vape batteries externally.

Overall, I've been really impressed with Augvape Druga Foxy mod after a week of daily use with no issues.

AUGVAPE BTFC RDA - The Build Deck

As I said, BTFC RDA is the latest colab project between Augvape and VapnFagn. The name says it all: they aimed at getting the most out of the top and bottom airflow as well as to achieve great flavor and vapor production.

The build deck on BTFC RDA really looks great especially because of the beefy posts. The posts hold your coils AND serve as AF channels if you opt for the bottom airflow.

There is one positive and one negative post on each side which enables you to use the BTFC RDA it in dual-coil or single-coil mode. You do need to position the coils so that the bottom airflow hits them directly.

The juice well is quite deep but that was the only option, IMHO, due to the fact that the beefy posts take quite a lot of space in the deck. There is still room for a nice wick in both single and dual coil configuration.

The grub screws are of good quality and there's plenty of room in the coil slots for thick legs of chunky coils like in all the best RDAs.

The Augvape BTFC RDA Setup And Wicking

BTFC RDA clipping off excess leads is super easy

Inserting the coils and aligning them is a breeze. You don't have to think about the length of your coil legs as they go through the slots all the way and can be clipped off easily.

This is a great feature as it really does speed up your coil placement and the quality grub screws keep the coils real tight for further alignment. (Left photo)

Throw in your favorite organic cotton, fluff it up and just tuck it in so it reaches the bottom of the deck, prime it and you're good to go! (Right photo)

Here comes the test fire!!! Dual flat twisted at 0.2 ohms total at 60W:

BTFC RDA Top Cap and Airflow Slots

A quick look at the BTFC RDA top cap and bore

I forgot to mention that the inside of the chamber and the top cap is not really conical but it does narrow down upwards.  The 810 wide bore drip tip is nice height and doesn't get hot at all, at least not at 60-80W. (Left photo)

Both the bottom and top airflow slots work well and are easily adjustable.

You can choose the top, bottom or a combo if you want to experiment. The various options available will cater for different air intake depending on your coil builds and AF preferences. (Right photo)

How does the Augvape BTFC RDA Vape on Druga Foxy 150W mod?

Druga Foxy and BTFC RDA performance

The flavor is good and there's plenty of vapor production! I used 2mg nic 70/30 VG/PG Strawberry Cake DIY mix and it's delicious.

The Augvape Druga Foxy mod is easy to use, looks super cool, holds the power steady and the batteries are draining equally and slow. The Augvape BTFC RDA is easy to build, hasn't leaked once and gives me a great vape . Overall, two quality pieces of vape gear from Augvape. Why am I not surprised with this? 🙂

Many thanks to my friends at Augvape for the review samples and keep up the good work!

As for you, my fellow vapers, keep calm, vape on and check our best box mod reviews as well!
